What Is Hippotherapy?
According to the American Hippotherapy Association hippotherapy is a physical, occupational or speech therapy treatment strategy that utilises equine movement. Hippotherapy is utilised as part of an integrated treatment program to achieve functional outcomes. More simply, instead of using equipment in a therapy room we use the horse as a dynamic platform on which to achieve therapeutic goals.
